If you are flying to London on business, City Airport is the one you want to fly to. Here, you avoid the massive headache at Heathrow where you spend hours upon hours queuing and checking in, only to find out there’s some problem with your flight or your seats. You just can’t afford to be delayed when you’re travelling on business so you need to cut out all the rubbish and head straight into an airport that just works. Once you get there, you are just a short distance away from some of the biggest business centres in the United Kingdom, perhaps even the world – Docklands and the world-renowned Canary Wharf. If you have been clever enough to book your car hire before you boarded your plan, you’ll be straight off your flight and into your car before shortly arriving at one of these amazing places.

London Docklands is a name given to the area of East and South East London that used to be the main docks of the city. Now, the land has been redeveloped and has lead to the building of some of the finest commercial offices in the country, most notably with the introduction of Canary Wharf.

Canary Wharf is development within London Docklands that features some of the most powerful global brands in a very small space. Featured here are the likes of Barclays, HSBC and Citigroup. Some of their offices are said to be the tallest buildings in the whole of the country. If you have a meeting in one of these buildings, you will sure be straight on the path to fortune!

Visiting London

Last summer some of my family came over to the UK from Australia. It was my cousin and her partner and her two children. The adults did a big visit, stopping in London for a wedding and then hiring a car and driving to Gloucestershire to visit myself and other family members who live there. It was fantastic to see them but a shame that the children decided to stay in London. Being teenagers, I think they thought that the prospect of visiting relatives was pretty boring and the idea of staying in London was much more attractive.

For one thing, they live in quite a small city and so London is a pretty big contrast and so very exciting for them. I can see why they liked it there, I always enjoy visiting London when I go. I would not like to live there, I find the fast pace of life pretty exciting for a few days but I think that I would find it tiring and draining after a sustained period of time. I like the fact that there is lots to do and see but again, I think I would find it too tiring after a while. I think being there as a tourist is very different to working in the city though and you should not feel pressure to do too much, too quickly unless you wan to. But as a place to visit I would certainly rate it among one of the most exciting places that I have been.

It Just Makes Sense

Many people who travel to London are going not because they needed to take a break from their normal lives, but they are going because they have been ordered or requested themselves to go for various business purposes. Many of these people choose the less expensive London City Airport to fly into, instead of Heathrow which is much more of a headache. Some people who travel this way often like to be able to see the sights and enjoy a night or two in a new locale before returning to the mundane routine of their “real” lives.

With breathtaking architectural feats such as the cathedrals, bridges and the London Eye Ferris Wheel, and cozy little cafés and other small businesses, it is no wonder why so many people flock to England. The rich history of centuries past is still evident in their older structures and in the way things are grouped together. For those people who enjoy living the life of a local while they visit some place new, having a car for personal transportation is definitely a cost that could mean the difference between a great trip and a terrible one.

Having a car also means that you’re more free to explore the outskirts of town or even the countryside which could lead to humbling views of sheer cliffs constantly bashed by the sea. You might even decide to visit Scotland or Ireland while you’re in your own vehicle, and if you did the only thing to stop you is whether you’re willing to go.
