London City airport is the only London airport that is situated within the city of London itself. All others; Heathrow, Luton and Stansted included, are to the north of the city and are much less accessible. The advantage to London City airport is that there are innumerable means by which you can get to the airport. However, driving remains the best form of transport. Imagine, for example, that you decide to use the train. Instead of having a nice, relaxing journey to the airport you’re going to be on edge worrying if you’ll be able to get to the airport in time. We all know the reputation that the British railways have and you can guarantee that there will be at least one delay during your trip. This makes the flight a lot less enjoyable than it should be. It also means that you don’t have a form of transport on your return; instead of being able to jump in the car and drive home you have to lug your bags to the station and stand on a platform for ages; this is the last thing that you want to be doing when you have just arrived back from a holiday!

Instead, drive to the airport. There are excellent parking facilities at the airport which are more than adequate to suit your needs. If, however, you still feel that they are a little bit too expensive, you could always park in the surrounding area; the advantage to the airport being in the centre of the city is that there are lots of car parks dotted around that can provide a cheap option.
